Project Description
CarbonFree Brandon Solar LP is proposing to develop an up to 50 MW AC / 70 MW DC solar photovoltaic (PV) project named "CarbonFree Brandon Solar" (the Project) in Loyalist Township, located on Brandon Road. The Project aims to contribute to the Government of Ontario's goal of accelerating new electricity generation from renewable sources to support the province's growing energy needs.

The project will generate:
- Local Employment - The project will also create meaningful employment — including roles in electrical, civil, and mechanical trades.
- Agricultural income - Farmers will benefit as grazing and beekeeping continue on project lands, keeping hundreds of acres in agricultural production and raising livestock.=
- Hospitality sector boost - Even beyond direct payments and contracts, the project will bring recurring business to local hotels, restaurants, and service providers through visiting project managers, technicians, and contractors over the lifetime of the facility.
A Community Benefit Agreement (CBA) will be proposed to support local priorities such as recreation, emergency services, and cultural programming.

We are prioritizing local contractors and service providers for:
- Civil works - Fencing, earthworks, road construction
- Vegetation and local road improvements
- Catering and accommodation during construction
- Landowner income - Local landowners hosting solar panels will receive dependable rent payments each year, keeping those dollars circulating in the area and reinvested in farms and rural businesses.
